Khenpo Karma Jinpa Tharchin is one of the Khenpos of the Benchen Nangten Thösam Ling Shedra in Pharping, Nepal.

Khenpo Karma Jinpa Tharchin was born in 1987 in Manang, a place in the Himalayan reagion of Nepal.
In 2000 he became one of the Benchen monks at Kathmandu Monastery, learning reading and writing and all the various rituals of the Karma Kagyu tradition.

He was ordained as Gechul Dompa and Gelong Dompa by late Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche. 2007 he went to the Shedra in Pharping to begin his studies in Buddhist Philosophy, Logic and Buddhist Science under the guidance of Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche. After more than 10 years of intensive study, he became a Khenpo in January 2018.  Since then he is teaching young children.

Khenpo Karma Jinpa Tharchin will be teaching the "The Jewel Ornament of Liberation" from Gampopa Sönam Rinchen. This book has 21 chapters, but Khenpo Jinpa will only teach chapter 17 "The Perfection of Wisdom Awareness".

Lord Gampopa once said, "For anyone who wishes to see me, studying The Jewel Ornament of Liberation is the same as meeting me."

Gampopa (1079–1153), also known as Dakpo Lhaje, was a great master of the Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. A trained physician, he turned to a spiritual life after losing his wife and children to an epidemic. He then became a monk devoted to the path of liberation.

In search of profound realization, he met the great yogi Milarepa, from whom he received essential Kagyu teachings, including instructions on Mahamudra and the nature of mind. Through intensive meditation practice under Milarepa’s guidance, Gampopa realized the true nature of mind.

Later, Gampopa founded a monastery in Dakpo, where he taught the Mahamudra teachings widely. His disciples carried these teachings throughout Tibet and established the major Kagyu lineages.

Gampopa’s teachings combine the systematic presentation of the path found in the sutras with the direct meditative instructions of the Mahamudra tradition. His writings are among the most important texts of Tibetan Buddhism today.
